License agreement
Emberwise is licensed to you under Apple's standard End User License Agreement for licensed applications. You can read it here:
By downloading or using the Emberwise app you agree to that agreement. The short notes below add to it and explain how Emberwise works in plain language.
Short notes
- Paid, works offline. Emberwise is a paid app and needs an active purchase to use. It needs no account, and once it is unlocked the lessons work without an internet connection.
- Plans and prices. You can choose a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The app shows the price, the billing period and what is included before you buy. The price shown in the app, in your local currency, is the amount Apple charges you.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the price shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase and again at each renewal. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone (tap your name, then Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Lifetime. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that does not renew. It is a launch offer, available for a limited time, and may be withdrawn from sale at any time. If you have already bought it, you keep it. It unlocks Emberwise for as long as we offer the app in the App Store.
- Restore and refunds. Use "Restore Purchases" in the app to get your access back on a new device with the same Apple ID. Apple handles payments and refunds; to ask for a refund, use Apple's "Report a Problem" page.
- Educational only. Emberwise teaches general skills for learning and practice. It is not medical, legal or professional advice. Please read the Safety Disclaimer before you use the app, and call your local emergency services in an emergency.
- Practise safely and legally. Follow local laws, fire bans, land-use rules and common sense whenever you try a skill for real. Use real-world drills only in safe places and conditions.
- Your use. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not copy, resell or republish the app, its text, illustrations or mascot.
- Our content. The text, illustrations and mascot "Kip" are original works of the Emberwise project. Content adapted from public guidance is credited on the Sources and Credits page. Third-party names belong to their owners and are used only to cite sources.
- No warranty. The app and the website are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of Emberwise is not liable for loss, injury or damage that results from using or relying on them. This does not limit any right or liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Apple. Apple is not the developer of Emberwise and is not responsible for it. The standard EULA explains Apple's role.
